Lemon Asparagus Tart
Ingredients
1 store-bought puff pastry crust
3/4 cup freshly grated Gruyere
A bunch of fresh asparagus
1 lemon
Pepper
Steps
Preheat over to 400 F. Follow the defrosting instructions for your puff pastry. Place parchment or a Silpat mat on a baking tray.
When the pastry is defrosted, roll dough into an 8x8 square. Pile the cheese in the center of the square and evenly spread into a smaller square, leaving about 1.5 inches of pastry around the sides. Trip the asparagus to the length of the cheese. Lie the asparagus on top of the cheese, alternating tip to end (See photo)
Place on the baking tray and cook for 20-25 minutes. Take out when the pastry is golden on the top and bottom. Dab off any oil from the cheese. Top with lemon zest and pepper.
